Preston’s College wins AAT award
Preston’s College has been recognised with an award by a national accounting qualification and membership body. The college was named as Medium Training Provider of the Year by AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), for the work it does to help its students achieve qualifications and begin successful careers.
Preston’s College works with school leavers, apprentices, higher education learners and adults with the ultimate aim of making them ‘The Most Employable’. The College takes great pride in supporting its learners to achieve the qualifications they need, alongside the development of technical skills and knowledge that employers and universities are looking for.
After picking up the award, Susan Lewis, accounting lecturer at Preston’s College, said: “The award represents the commitment to learning, enthusiasm and up-to-date industry knowledge held by the managers and lecturers in the Accounting Professional Centre.
“This accolade would not have been possible without having a strong group of students, year-on-year, who are willing to learn across a range of career stages. The award reflects the high quality learning experience that aspiring accountants will receive at Preston’s College from Levels 1 through to Level 4.”
Mark Farrar, AAT Chief Executive, said: “It’s always a pleasure to present these awards to individuals who have used our qualification to change and improve their lives, and to the organisations who have helped them in doing so. Hearing the inspiring stories of winners and nominees is something I always look forward to.”
Preston’s College offers a range of accounting provision including AAT qualifications from Level 1 to Level 4. From September 2017, the College will also offer the Level 3 exit route ‘Assistant Accountant’ apprenticeship standard together with the Level 4 exit route ‘Assistant Accounting Technician’.
