Professional Liverpool celebrates as membership leaps 25%

Professional Liverpool is celebrating after seeing its membership levels reach a record high in last six months.

The organisation, which works to promote the city region’s growing financial and professional services sector, saw its membership leap during the period by 25%, growing from 280 to 350 businesses.

It has been a busy year for Professional Liverpool to date, with the organisation moving into a new base at the Cotton Exchange on Old Hall Street, in the heart of the city’s business district.

John Hall, chief exec of Professional Liverpool, said: “Over the last six months, Professional Liverpool has gone from strength to strength, building its membership base and expanding its sectors.

“The increase in subscriptions has allowed us to reinvest into the organisation to offer an enhanced service to members. For example, extending our events programme even further and investing in our website.”

He continued: “We have also strengthened our connections with the city’s universities and have established a basis for working with the Local Enterprise Partnership on strategic issues affecting the sector.”

Professional Liverpool said it has this year held over 23 sell-out events, with each averaging around 90 attendees.

The organisation also struck a new partnership with Merseyside Young Professionals to help the future generation network and develop as professionals.

Similarly, Professional Liverpool recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with John Moores University to strengthen ties with the education sector. It already has an MOU with the University of Liverpool.

Speaking further, John commented: “We are pleased to be joining forces with such leading organisations.

“We believe collaboration is crucial, especially as we look to build on the professional sectors in the city and further drive investment.”

Sectors covered by Professional Liverpool include marketing and communications, design, property, construction and healthcare, in addition to hospitality and the creative industry.
