Nicholas Humphreys Charity Foundation - Charity Hitchhike 2017!
The NHCF has raised thousands of pounds over the years by running events such as our annual golf day, black tie dinners, cycle rides and much more. The money raised gets distributed to local causes, for this event we have decided that the money will go to the following three charities; The Christie Charitable Fund in Withington, Francis House in Didsbury and Carers Federation in Nottingham.
On 9th June 2017, the Humphrey Hound (the charity mascot) will be waving the hitchhiking teams off on their adventure. The aim is to get as far away from Manchester as possible within 24 hours without spending any money! The teams of two will be equipped with large hitchhiking boards and brightly coloured charity t-shirts to catch the attention of any potentially generous and friendly drivers! Dan Strain who has organised the event said “We managed to raise just over £1000 from our cycle ride last September, and are hoping to raise a substantial amount more with this event. We are even offering people the opportunity to sponsor us per mile travelled if they’re brave enough!”
You can make donations via our Just Giving page, just search ‘NHCF’. You can read more about the event on our website.
