Travel and Events company moves into Regent House
Capita Travel and Events, the specialist business travel, meetings and event services provider, has relocated its regional office in Stockport, moving it closer to the town centre.
Capita Travel and Events has moved into Orbit Development’s flagship commercial property - Regent House – in space totalling over 14,500 sq ft, taking the whole of the 5th floor and half of the 6th.
Employing 220 people, the regional contact centre is part of a business which manages over £500m of business customers’ spend on business travel, meetings and events.
Mike Woodhouse, Head of Facilities/SH&E, Capita Travel and Events, explained the reasons behind the move: “We want to offer the best possible working environment for employees as part of our aim to be an employer of choice in the area.
“The office space in Regent House is modern and provides the flexibility we need for comfort and practicality. Located close to major transport links, it’s a nice central location for our employees and visitors to travel to.”
A £multi-million investment in Stockport is also bringing a range of food, entertainment and leisure brands into the area.
Rhys Owen, Orbit’s Leasing Surveyor for the town centre, said the decision by Capita Travel and Events had been a significant one for Regent House.
He said: “Capita Travel and Events’ move into Regent House, together with the space Travelodge has taken, plus the successful letting of a further four floors of smaller suites means Regent is now over 90% full.”
Regent House is one of 12 commercial properties in Orbit Developments’ Stockport portfolio situated just metres away from the M60 and the A6, the bus terminus and train station are just a few minutes’ walk away.
The building has undergone a major internal transformation in the last few years with a modern, welcoming reception area with building manager and security team.
