Home Group reveals landmark apprenticeship intake of 140 plus

UK housing provider Home Group has announced it will more than double its apprenticeship intake during the next 12 months, creating around 140 roles.

The news sees the not-for-profit company surpass its 60-strong intake last year with latest roles set to include customer services, health and social care, office administration, housing, building development and information technology.

The vacancies will be available throughout the UK but the majority of which will be based in the North East where the company’s headquarters and Customer Service Centre is based.

Mark Henderson, Home Group chief executive, said: “I firmly believe that every business should employ apprentices. Apprentices bring with them enthusiasm and a desire to learn new skills as they progress in their chosen careers.

“Bringing in people who haven’t previously worked in a specific role also brings with it new ideas. Home Group has benefitted from innovative ideas and new ways of working thanks to us listening to our apprentices, who often have a fresh perspective on things.”

Mr Henderson added: “With the naming of Home Group as one of the best places to work in the UK there has never been a better time to join a company which has a very strong social purpose and makes a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people each day.”

Home Group’s current apprenticeship programme has also been shortlisted in the Excellence in Employability and Diversity category at the soon to be held CIPD North East Awards 2017, and with the planned growth of the programme, its impact will extend even further over the coming years.
