Lakes Distillery gins soar into Manchester Airport
Cumbrian drinks company The Lakes Distillery has secured a listing with Manchester Airport.
From this month, the UK’s third-busiest airport will stock the firm’s Lakes Gin spirits.
The deal with Manchester airport is just one of several supplier agreements secured by The Lakes Distillery in recent months, following on from similar arrangements with transport operator Brittany Ferries and several duty free sites in Australia and New Zealand.
Nigel Mills, chairman at The Lakes Distillery, said “Our expansion and brand awareness is continuing to grow at such a strong pace with not only The Lakes Gin but our whole family of spirits.
“We are excited to be taking to the stage in World Duty Free.”
He continued: “It is perfect timing to join forces with Manchester Airport, working closely together to drive the airport as the Gateway to Cumbria and The Lakes Distillery.”
The Lakes Distillery, based near Lake Bassenthwaite, was founded in 2014.
Stephen Ma, Manchester Airport’s trading manager for liquor, tobacco and food, commented: “I am very excited in seeing another addition to our premium gin range.
“With the Lake District being a major tourist attraction and Manchester Terminal 1 having the exclusivity in selling a multi-award- winning product, The Lakes Gin and will be a great parting gift for the customer’s onward journey.”
