Tottenham Hotspur's latest development is bringing a nature reserve to Enfield

Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur have been given permission to proceed with their purpose-built educational facility in Enfield, which will deliver a multi-use sports field, educational facility and nature reserve to the area.

The THFC Environmental Centre and Nature Reserve, which has received planning consent from Enfield Council, includes a multi-purpose sports pitch for use by local schools and the football club along with a nature reserve boasting boardwalks, wildflower walks and meadow.

Sitting adjacent to the club’s current Training Centre, a fully specced educational building including two classrooms, four changing rooms and an outdoor teaching space also forms a key part of the site, which is part of the club’s section 106 commitments to Enfield.

Spurs Chairman, Daniel Levy, commented: “The location of the Club’s Training Centre has provided us with an unrivalled and unique opportunity to deliver something truly outstanding for the young people of Enfield.

“Through our section 106 commitments in Enfield, our Training Centre has already been able to play an important role locally through the hosting of sport and educational projects alongside a comprehensive programme of outreach work.

“This facility represents a sustainable long-term investment into the next generation and will provide facilities for children to learn in a fun, high quality and natural environment that can remain part of the borough for years to come.”

The proposed new nature reserve is to be delivered in partnership with Capel Manor College on Dickenson’s Trough Meadow.
