Getting equipment under cover fast

Rubb Buildings Ltd provided the ideal solution to protect machinery at Lynemouth Power Station for GE Power.

Lynemouth Power Station generates safe and sustainable energy in Ashington, Northumberland. This power station has generated electricity from coal since 1972. Their ongoing plan is to convert the power station from coal burn generation to biomass. On completion, they will be able to supply the National Grid with up to 390 megawatts of low carbon electricity.

UK company Rubb manufactured and installed a standard, robust shelter to GE Power, at Lynemouth Power Station. The THA storage shelter features a span of 10m and is 9m long, with sidewalls of 3m. The shelter incorporates an easy access PVC curtain door, measuring 4.5m wide x 4.1m high. The shelter was constructed quickly and will be used to store large vehicles and machinery to support environmental efforts at the power station.

The Rubb THA standard shelter range is made from a hot dip galvanized steel framework and PVC fabric cladding. The framework is galvanized to protect it against corrosion, creating a lifespan of at least 30 years. The covering membrane is fabricated from flame retardant, high tenacity PVC polyester fabric, which is tensioned over the frame. The white translucent roof creates a naturally bright internal working environment.
