Penny Petroleum donates £5K to Calvert Trust Kielder

INDEPENDENT petrol filling station operator Penny Petroleum is giving £5k to Calvert Trust Kielder thanks to a public collection box campaign.

The money has been donated by Penny Petroleum’s customers, in collection boxes across 33 of their petrol forecourts in North England and Scotland.

The donation will be spent supporting people with disabilities together with their family and friends to achieve and enjoy outdoor adventure activities.

Penny Petroleum Business Development manager Vicky Hennessy said: “We always aim to give back to the communities in which we operate and charitable giving is a massive part of our ongoing CSR plan.

“Hitting the £5k milestone for the Calvert Trust Kielder is something our customers and staff are proud of and we will continue to raise as much money as we can for this fantastic worthwhile cause.”

Calvert Trust Kielder is a registered charity, located in Kielder Water and Forest Park that provides a range of adventurous outdoor activities, with specialist safety equipment and qualified and experienced dedicated staff.

Charlotte Gaunt at Calvert Trust Kielder said: “Penny Petroleum’s donation shows a real commitment from both the business, its staff and customers to support disabled children and adults to enjoy the challenge of outdoor activities.

“Every year we support thousands of children and adults allowing them to explore their spirit of adventure in a safe and caring environment and we wouldn’t be able to continue our work without generous donations like this one. We are really grateful.”
