Sheffield motorbike specialist to roll in larger premises following growth period

Sheffield motorbike specialist Via Moto is set to relocate from its 2000 sq ft Shalesmoor Showroom to a new 12,000 sq ft unit on Shoreham Street.

The significantly larger space will enable Via Moto to extend its product range and stock a higher volume of motorbikes for sale.

The new showroom, which will include a lounge space and cafe, is expected to stock Suzuki for the very first time, along with other big names such as Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and Piaggio.

Via Moto, which initially opened on Abbeydale Road in 2012 by owner Matthew Gilder, now boasts three showrooms in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

These include the Chesterfield branch, which specialises in Honda bikes and accessories, and Clay Cross which is a solus Kawasaki dealership.

Matthew said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Via Moto, as whilst we have loved the last few years in our Shalesmoor shop the time has come to move into larger premises and we feel this new unit and area of the city is perfect for what we want to achieve.

“With Sentinel Brewery just next door, Shoreham Street is rapidly becoming a more popular area of Sheffield that we are very pleased to be a part of.”

This announcement follows on from a sharp increase in turnover, which has risen to £5m since 2012.

In addition, the motorbike specialist has also confirmed the appointment of new e-commerce manager Dan Weaver who is to manage the expansion of product sales, and the increased responsibility for merchandise manager Rebecca Haworth, as she oversees the refurbishment works on the new site.

The new Via Moto Sheffield site is 156-158, Shoreham Street, Sheffield and will open to the public this June.
