Plans tabled for £41m three-building project in Salford
Developer Forshaw Land and Property Group has revealed plans for a multi-million pound apartment scheme in Salford.
The Bolton-based company is seeking approval for a £41m project to deliver 252 apartments across three buildings, ranging from seven to eight storeys, on Worrall Street in Ordsall.
Forshaw has chosen national planning and development consultancy Lichfields to take the proposals forward. DLA Design is the architecture firm appointed for the scheme.
According to Lichfields, the development will support more than 200 jobs and bring a boost of almost £30m for the local economy.
Nathan Matta, associate director at Lichfields’ Manchester office, commented: “The proposal will create a high quality and well–designed residential development that will result in the removal of existing unsightly industrial buildings and will significantly enhance the local neighbourhood.
“This exciting development responds positively to the council’s aspirations for the area through its high quality design and accommodation mix.”
The development will comprise 124 one-bedroom apartments, 21 two-bed duplex units, 80 two-bed apartments, one three-bed duplex unit and 26 three-bedroom apartments.
Additionally, the scheme will deliver public realm improvements, landscaping and parking spaces.
Lichfields has estimated that, during the course of the project’s one-and-a-half-year build process, it will sustain 211 on-site construction jobs while supporting 319 off-site jobs in construction-related industries.
Speaking further, Nathan said: “The proposed development will support the creation of a strong, vibrant and healthy community and provide a new area of high-quality public realm.”
