Northern Farmers and Rural Businesses Urged to Attend Resilience and Succession Seminar
Northern farmers, rural businesses and landowners are being invited to attend an advice seminar at this year’s National Sheep Association (NSA) North Sheep event that’s designed to help them look at their current position so that they can make key business decisions at a time of great uncertainty.
The seminar, hosted by land, property and business consultancy George F. White, will focus on business resilience when subsidy and environmental schemes change or end, giving farmers advice on how to best to understand their position so they can make sound business decisions going forward.
Andrew Entwistle, a Partner at George F. White, said: “With Brexit looming and the future of subsidies and environmental schemes uncertain, business resilience is a hot topic for farmers. Being sufficiently aware of where the business bottom line is, and also the various legal constraints involved, is a must in negotiating a new environmental scheme. This seminar will explore how sheep farmers should be prepared for the changes ahead.”
The seminar is taking on Wednesday 7th June at 10am during the NSA North Sheep event, which is being held at West Shields Farm in Tow Law, County Durham.
Simon Britton, also a Partner at George F. White added: “The seminar will be extremely useful to farmers and landowners who can find out more about making their business as risk adverse as possible and ensuring it can continue to trade successfully despite volatility. Those who attend will learn about principles of negotiation, understanding business and legal obligations and what you can and cannot do, how to analyse their current financial position of their rural business, taking into account funding, cash pressure, environmental schemes and business succession. We are looking forward to welcoming those from the rural community, providing our expertise and advice and answering any questions or queries they may have.”
You can meet the George F. White team at the event on their stand, number 151, or at the Seminar at 10am in the seminar building. For more information about the NSA North Sheep 2017 event, please visit: http://bit.ly/2nLaszp
