Meet the latest super connected building in London's West End
AshbyCapital and Exemplar’s new mixed-use development, The Avenue, has become the latest building in London to be recognised for its best-in-class connectivity and digital infrastructure.
The 85,000 sq ft property, which completed in March, has been award a Wired Certified Platinum rating from WiredScore and in the process joins the likes of The Shard and 200 Aldersgate in being awarded the organisation’s highest rating.
Features including two diverse entry points for its communications infrastructure, free WiFi in common areas and the ease of installation from new service providers for tenants were cited as some of the reasons behind the award.
The Bennetts Associates-designed development is perched on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Tottenham Court Road in the West End and boasts 71,000 sq ft of office space and 14,000 sq ft of retail space across its seven floors.
Most notably the developers confirmed back in January that they had prelet 24,000 sq ft of the building to UK tech unicorn Skyscanner, who have taken the top three floors of the development.
Peter Ferrari, Chief Executive of AshbyCapital, commented: “This recognition is testament to our commitment to offering our occupiers the best possible office environment in which they can thrive.
“We are dedicated to ensuring we keep pace with the technological advancements that will support these businesses both now and in the future.”
William Newton, EMEA Director at WiredScore, said: “AshbyCapital and Exemplar have made a fantastic investment to ensure that The Avenue is a truly exemplary building. In achieving the Wired Certified Platinum rating, they have demonstrated their commitment to ensuring that The Avenue is future-proofed and will provide its tenants with the best experience for digital connectivity.”
