Financial services firm WHIreland selects One New Bailey for North West base

WHIreland is moving into Salford’s One New Bailey scheme.

The national financial services business exchanged contracts with English Cities Fund (ECf) for 6,610 sq ft at the riverside development on a 10-year lease.

WHIreland, which offers private wealth management, wealth planning and corporate broking services, will occupy part of the first floor.

The firm said it chose One New Bailey for the building’s proximity to the city’s Spinningfields business district.

Once the internal fit-out of the space is complete, WHIreland is expecting to relocate from its current base on John Dalton Street in July.

Richard Killingbeck, WHIreland chief exec CEO said: “We have an exciting growth strategy for our business over the coming years and we are delighted to be moving to new high quality offices at One New Bailey.

“The move to brand new and attractive premises enhances our presence in Manchester for both clients and our staff as we continue to grow our wealth management and wealth planning services in the city and the North West.”

Phil Mayall, ECf development director, said: “Interest in the remaining space at One New Bailey has been building for some time so we’re delighted to announce that WHIreland is our latest occupier.

“One New Bailey is really coming to life now, with the hugely popular Menagerie operating on the ground floor and Freshfields due to move in within the next few months, our vision for a vibrant business and leisure destination is becoming a reality.”

He added: “The success of One New Bailey only increases our confidence in the next stages of the wider scheme which we’re looking forward to progressing this year.”

Robert Race, WHIreland’s Manchester-based head of wealth management, said: “Our roots in the city go back to the 19th Century and whilst our existing premises have served us well, our move this summer reinforces our commitment to Manchester and the local economy.”

One New Bailey is now 74% occupied, following the signing of restaurant Menagerie and multinational law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

JLL and Cushman & Wakefield are joint letting agents for the wider New Bailey scheme.

ECf is a joint venture between developer Muse Developments, financial services giant Legal & General and the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency, in partnership with Salford City Council.
