Container firm Eldapoint to create 20 jobs with new £3m Liverpool2 contract

Container services business Eldapoint is expecting to create new jobs after securing a multi-million pound contract with Peel Ports.

The deal, worth over £3m, will see the company deliver a range of services for the port operator at its Liverpool2 deepwater container terminal and Royal Seaforth Container Terminal.

As part of the three-year agreement, Merseyside-based Eldapoint will provide monitoring, plug-in services and breakdown cover, in addition to 24/7, year-round monitoring and repair services for its refrigerated shipping containers.

Eldapoint expects to create up to 20 jobs over the next six months as a result of the contract win, with the possibility of recruiting even more new staff as the project develops.

The firm, which is headquartered at Knowsley Industrial Park, said the deal is the latest in a number of contract wins that are helping to drive its growth.

Andy Blount, finance director at Eldapoint, said: “We are already recognised as the UK’s leading provider of container solutions to blue chip clients both domestically and within the global marketplace.

“Our success in securing this contract with the Port of Liverpool after what was an extremely rigorous tender process is highly significant for our business.”

He continued: “We expect to recruit up to 20 new staff to resource the contract over the coming six-month period with the possibility of further new jobs as the project develops.”

“Our experience of delivering similar support to Port of Felixstowe for the last nine years will be invaluable in supporting our strategy for this prestigious contract.”
