Adapting to the Challenges of Artificial Intelligence

A West Yorkshire based creative development agency, IVE, is aiming to help employees and business owners to adapt to the challenges that the increasing growth in artificial intelligence will bring.

Following a successful rebrand, IVE, formerly known as CapeUK, has begun providing consultancy and training in relation to creativity development to organisations both nationally and internationally to help ‘future proof’ a range of different businesses.

Drew Rowlands, Development Director, said, “In the UK, we can split the employment landscape into three main categories: agriculture, manufacturing and the service industry. Whilst artificial intelligence will inevitably affect all sectors, it is believed the greatest impact in the next 20 years will be within roles that fall into the service category, which currently accounts for over 70% of all employment.

“A wide range of roles will inevitably vanish; replaced by new technology. However, this in turn will bring the development of new employment opportunities. People will therefore need to be equipped with skills that they can apply to often diverse contexts. Adaptability, the ability to think outside the box and a mind-set that can make connections between experiences and apply learning flexibly will become the currency of employment.

“A fundamental difference between artificial intelligence and human intelligence is our capacity to be creative, it is therefore imperative that this skill is nurtured. Data capture, interpretation and solution focused application will shape our society, so we must ensure that every opportunity is taken to develop creativity so we can utilise the technology to the benefit of humanity. “

IVE provides support, development and training to both business owners and their employees. Bespoke packages can be developed around the needs of the business, including how to develop a vision for leadership that encourages and promotes innovative thinking, and IVE’s expert team can also deliver training to help unlock the creative potential of employees.

Prior to offering consultancy and training services IVE, then known as CapeUK, spent 20 years researching creativity and the creative process, and is now sharing their knowledge to help the business community drive productivity and create innovative new ideas.

As a not-for-profit organisation, funds generated from its consultancy services go back into the community to enable the delivery of programmes of talent development in some of the country’s most deprived areas, aimed at disadvantaged young people in order to inspire and encourage creativity from a young age.
