JCT600 creates dedicated car preparation centre in Chesterfield
JCT600, the Bradford-headquartered car retailer, has created a new Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre in Chesterfield.
The PDI centre will serve the Audi and Mercedes-Benz brands within the fleet division.
Formerly the site of Volkswagen Chesterfield, the car preparation centre features a 600 car outdoor stock holding capacity.
The centre has designated indoor wet and dry valet bay facilities to work on 10 cars at a time as well as two indoor handover areas able to accommodate 25 cars daily.
Located on Sheepbridge Industrial Estate, the centre will enable the specialist PDI technical team to prepare around 3,500 vehicles a year.
The operation incorporates a ‘SMART’ 48 hour delivery turnaround process and a dedicated indoor handover/onward delivery facility for JCT600’s fleet division.
Neill Richards, JCT600’s group fleet sales director, said: “By creating a centralised pre-delivery inspection and car preparation facility in Chesterfield, the fleet operation has gained its own dedicated centre for Audi and Mercedes-Benz with the capacity to prepare around 3,500 fleet vehicles.
“With additional space, the latest equipment and a trained 28-strong team dedicated to preparing fleet vehicles, the new facility enables us to very quickly process and turn around vehicles, making sure they are ready for a speedy onward delivery to our customers nationwide.”
The JCT600 group is a family business with 50 dealerships selling 18 of the world’s most respected brands such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW/MINI, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
The group now employs a workforce of 2,300 people.
