HR tech startup inploi has raised another half a million in funding

London-based inploi, the job opportunities marketplace, has announced it has raised £500k in funding, bringing total funding raised by the business to £1m.

The platform launched back in November to help put hospitality workers in touch with trusted employers and since then userbase has grown by 40-50% month-on-month, currently standing at over 10,000 users.

It is now used by over 500 hospitality operators in London, including Fortnum & Mason, LEON restaurants and The Chiltern Firehouse, and raised raised a £250k seed round back in January with participation from a LinkedIn executive.

Now the startup has attracted more seasoned investors and entrepreneurs to back the business with existing shareholders being joined by Ross Human Directions founder Julia Ross, coffee equipment manufacturer La Marzocco and US entrepreneur Bob Hamill all contributing this time round.

Co-founder and CPO Alex Hanson-Smith commented: “We have an extensive product roadmap, designed in consultation with the industry, which the team are excited to implement. Recruitment in sectors with high staff turnover is beset with legacy technology and a poor user experience.

“New app-based startups have, at best, ported the same issues to mobile. The way candidates expect to access information and discover opportunities has changed - we’re giving our customers the tools to keep up.”

Fellow Co-founder Matthew de la Hey added: “We’re grateful for the backing and support of our investors who believe in the team and our vision for inploi.

“We’re also proud to be working with companies who provide good places to work, who understand and support our mission, and who have been patient whilst we get off the ground.

“We’re now able to consolidate the progress made to date, accelerate our growth, and further deliver on our value proposition.”
