West Yorkshire manufacturing firm wins £6m contract to supply equipment to UK fire services

A West Yorkshire manufacturer of emergency services equipment has secured a contract worth £6m to exclusively supply its fire helmets to firefighters nationally.

The HEROS-titan helmet, designed by Holmfirth-based fire and rescue supplier Rosenbauer UK, was selected as the ‘fire helmet of choice’ as part of a newly-awarded Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) contract to Bristol Uniforms.

The contract win means that Rosenbauer UK’s HEROS-titan helmet will be accessible to every fire and rescue service across the UK.

Following PPE trials, the HEROS-titan was chosen for providing the highest safety and protection levels as well as maximal firefighter comfort, a lower weight, an upgraded LED torch, increased balance and uprated aesthetics.

The public sector contract, known as the Collaborative PPE Framework, supersedes the former South East Consortium, which, for the past eight years, had used Rosenbauer UK’s HEROS-xtreme fire helmet.
