Hole in one (series) from Lloyd BMW Newcastle

Lloyd Newcastle BMW offered two BMW 1 Series’ as hole-in-one prizes at Steve Cram’s annual charity golf day at Slaley Hall.

The Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Day is held in aid of children’s charity COCO and provides golfers with an opportunity to play alongside celebrities and sporting stars, such as former English and Newcastle footballer Steve Harper, Scottish curler Eve Moorhead, Newcastle Falcons player Andy Buist and British racing driver Marc Hynes. Three golfers were joined by a celebrity for the day to compete against other teams at Q Hotels Slaley Hall.

Lloyd provided two BMW 118i SE 3dr models for any golfer who manages to get a hole-in-one on the 6th hole of the Hunting Course and anyone who gets a hole-in-one on the 11th of the Priestman Course at the event on June 22nd.

Michelle Caveney, Head of Business at Lloyd BMW and MINI Newcastle, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be able to support such a deserving cause by donating a BMW 1 Series to anyone talented, or lucky, enough to get a hole-in-one. COCO does such fantastic work in helping disadvantaged children across the world and we’re delighted to play a part in raising vital funds to be invested into projects which will make a huge difference to the lives of young people.”

Steve Cram said: “I am hugely grateful to Lloyd Newcastle for the generous donation of BMW 1 Series cars for anyone hitting a hole-in-one during the COCO celebrity golf day. Having such a lavish prize up for grabs is guaranteed to encourage even more friendly competition among the participants.

“The support that the golf day gets from the North-East business community and from my friends and colleagues in the world of sport is hugely appreciated and goes a long way towards ensuring we can raise a lot of money to invest directly into projects that are transforming young lives in some of the poorest parts of Africa.”

COCO was co-founded by Cram and former British Army Major Jim Panton in 2000. The charity works with communities in remote regions of the developing world to alleviate the poverty which prevents children from receiving an eduction. Since 2004, the Steve Cram Celebrity Golf Day has raised more than £210,000 for COCO.
