Direct Food Ingredients Welcomes Two Apprentices

Macclesfield-based, Direct Food Ingredients has welcomed two new members to the team.

Kerry Pearce and Matt Latham will work across a variety of areas in the ever-expanding company, which is situated on Waters Green.

Leek-resident Kerry comes to Direct Food Ingredients after working in a variety of roles at Morrisons supermarket for five years. Kerry boasts excellent customer service skills which will assist her in her position as an administration apprentice.

Matt will support the accounts department as an apprentice. He hails from Cheddleton and having recently completed his A-Levels at Westwood College in Leek, he is now part-way through studying the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) level 2 qualification.

Steve Loake, managing director at Direct Food Ingredients, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer apprenticeships at Direct Food Ingredients, as they are a great way for individuals to start their career early alongside structured training programmes and gain the right skills and knowledge needed for this industry.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kerry and Matt to the team. The company is going through an exciting period of growth and so it is important to strengthen each department and ensure that we are always delivering excellent customer service to each and every one of our clients.”

Direct Food Ingredients’ head office is located on Waters Green in the centre of Macclesfield and employs 22 people. The business is an established leader in the importation, storage and distribution of functional foods, nutritional and sports ingredients as well as vitamin and mineral premixes.
