The Mob Film Group launches new Manchester post-production facility
A full-service post-production facility has launched in central Manchester.
Rabble Post, part of The Mob Film Group, occupies 3,173 sq ft on the third-floor of Queens Chambers, on the corner John Dalton Street and Deansgate.
Launched to fill a gap in the market for post-production services following a string of recent closures, The Mob said Rabble Post is now the only such facility operating in the city centre.
The centre has already worked on projects for a number of brands, including Premier League clubs Manchester United and Manchester City, Bolton-based online retailer Ao.com, airline Etihad Airways, headwear company New Era, fashion firm Misguided and the DS Virgin Racing Team.
Rabble Post’s services include editing, grading, sound and Vfx for broadcast and advertising.
The company recently hired Rebecca McDonald in the role of senior producer post production and Oli Preston as senior Vfx artist, growing its headcount to eight.
The Mob’s group managing director, Nick Humphreys, said: “With the launch of Rabble we are very much bringing the best of Soho to central Manchester with a very slick operation in an enviably designed space that has a wow factor.”
“It’s a huge privilege to be the only full-service post production facility in Manchester city centre and is a sign of our own investment in the region that we secured this facility as an alternative to MediaCity.”
He added: “We feel we are extremely well positioned to work with the very best creative talent in the region.”
Rabble’s facility includes boutique online and offline suites, a Da Vinci Resolve grading suite and a full-spec 5.1 sound studio and recording booth. The site also has a bar and soft areas, for clients to relax between projects.
A number of big names in on-screen entertainment have used Rabble Post’s audio and recording suites, including Peaky Blinders actress Helen McCrory, Coronation Street’s Siobhan Finneran and comedian Paddy McGuinness.
Nick continued: “We are easy to find, easy to work and very competitive and see Rabble as a long-term investment in keeping a facility in the city centre.
“Our aspiration is to be the best post production house outside of London. We feel that opportunities to grow are endless and that we can work on and deliver the world class creative content that is being generated.”
He explained that although The Mob is behind the investment in Rabble Post, the facility will operate “very much a stand-alone business that fills a huge gap in the market and not only keeps our post production in Manchester but opens its doors to broadcasters and advertisers alike”.
