Drive Dynamics Bucks National Trend By Increasing Number Of Driving Instructors

A national driving school headquartered in West Yorkshire is bucking the trend by increasing the number of instructors on its books.

Thanks to a new business model and a recently launched electronic diary system, Drive Dynamics - based between Leeds and Bradford at Drighlington – has signed up 30 new affiliate instructors in the last week alone.

This is against a backdrop of a national shortage of instructors, which, in some areas, is resulting in learners having to wait up to two months before taking their first lesson.

Drive Dynamics chief executive Beverley Midgley, who started the business 11 years ago from her kitchen table, said: “We have recently changed our business model to one known as ‘cash in the car’.

“This is the preferred payment option of instructors and the result has been fantastic.

“Signing up new instructors has traditionally been a battle for many driving schools, and, as a result, they struggle to cope with the rising demand of learner drivers requiring lessons.

“Nationally, we have in excess of 300 instructors on our books, and we are delighted to be increasing this number on a daily basis. It’s great news for us and particularly good news for learner drivers.”
