Housebuilder LPC Living seeks views on 108-home Salford scheme

People in the Ordsall area of Salford are being asked to give their views on proposals for a key regeneration scheme.

Property developer LPC Living, the company behind the project, will unveil its plans for the former District Centre off Robert Hall Street and Phoebe Street later this month through a series of public exhibitions.

If approved, the scheme will boost the area’s housing stock with a further 108 homes.

Those who visit the exhibitions will have the opportunity to view the plans, talk to the project team, ask questions and provide feedback.

LPC Living director Simon Ashdown said: “This is an important site in the heart of Ordsall and we have been working hard to produce a proposal that we hope will be well received and provide an attractive addition to this flourishing community.

“As well as providing much needed new homes to the area and the continued regeneration of Ordsall, we believe that our proposal will also bring a wide range of benefits to the area.”

He continued: “The proposal includes enhanced landscaping, traffic calming and improvements to enhance visibility and pedestrian access.

“There will also be construction employment opportunities, with a commitment to recruit locally where possible.”

The development was designed by Warrington’s Dixon Architecture. The scheme’s landscaping was designed by Manchester-based landscape architects Randall Thorp.

LPC Living expects to submit a planning application this autumn, after the public consultation.

Drop-in public exhibitions will be held from July 11 to July 13, first at Ordsall Health Centre, then Ordsall Community Café and Primrose Hill Primary School.
