Liverpool-based Alder Training snapped up by housing giant

North West commercial training provider Alder Training Limited has been snapped up by one of the region’s biggest housing companies.

Liverpool-based Alder, now part of The Regenda Group, said the deal will give it access to greater support and wider growth opportunities as it continues to offer training for people in the health sector.

The company will, in turn, contribute to Regenda’s vision for sustainable regeneration in its neighbourhoods by working to improve the life chances of individuals and communities.

For Regenda, the transaction is part of a strategy to diversify into new sectors and deliver group-wide growth.

Alder will retain its own branding, operating alongside other subsidiaries within the Regenda business.

Michael Birkett, chief exec of Regenda, said: “We are delighted that Alder Training Limited is joining the Regenda Group.

“Both organisations share the same values and believe that access to high quality skills, training and employability support is key to developing people and communities, along with enhancing the economy of the region.”

He added: “As a forward-thinking business, we are committed to delivering regeneration across the North West and have expanded our Group to be increasingly effective in improving our communities and the life chances of our residents.”

Michael said that, through its acquisition of Alder, Regenda will be able to “deliver these aims in new ways and tap into a wealth of specialist knowledge”.

Alder provides apprenticeships and training qualifications for roles in health and social care, childcare, dental nursing, customer services and business administration, employing more than 60 staff across three training centres.

The company’s existing directors will remain within the business as part of the deal.

Alder Training MD Bryan Riley commented: “We’re very excited to be joining the Regenda Group and ambitious for our future as a training provider supporting people and businesses across the region.

“The businesses and trainees that we currently work with can be even more confident about the high quality of service they will receive now and in the future.”

He continued: “Apprenticeships, skills and high quality training are more important than ever, locally and regionally, and I’m convinced we can now make an even greater contribution in this new partnership.”
