CPA Star of the Future 2017

Wakefield based Peter Duffy Limited Apprentice, Joe Hobson, has been confirmed as the regional winner of the 2017 Construction Plant Association “Stars of the Future” award.

Joe is in the process of finishing his level 2 plant mechanic apprenticeship with Askham Bryan College, and will be progressing onto the level 3 advanced apprenticeship in September. Joe was nominated for the award as he has demonstrated a high level of knowledge and technical skills required for this demanding role, combined with his exemplary attendance record and high level of commitment.

With stiff competition from over 30 nominations in the region it is a great achievement for Joe to be recognised with this prestigious award. The award was judged by the CPA and CITB and the award ceremony was held at the Plantworx exhibition in Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire.

Peter Duffy Limited is a civil engineering company based in Wakefield celebrating its 45th anniversary. Managing director Peter Duffy commented, “in this celebratory year it is very rewarding to see our investment in training and staff development being recognised in this way, we are very pleased for Joe and proud of his fantastic achievement. Joe is one of eight people completing apprenticeships in the company and this should inspire others to aim high and achieve good qualifications”.
