Middlesbrough town centre becomes home to new African clothing retailer

A new business selling African and European men’s and women’s clothes and accessories has opened in Middlesbrough town centre.

Dodds Brown, the Teesside-based independent commercial property consultancy, secured the letting in Dundas Indoor Market to Demada Chic Boutique.

Demada Chic Boutique offers a range of original African designed and made women’s and men’s outfits, alongside European clothing ranges.

Owner of Demada Chic Boutique, Middlesbrough resident Mama Lydia started selling clothes from home and has taken advantage of Dundas Market’s business creation and growth scheme to take the next step by moving to a new location.

She said: “There are very few options to buy genuine African clothing on Teesside, so I expect Demada Chic Boutique will take off.”

Richard Wilson, letting agent at Dodds Brown, added: “Our enterprise initiative helps entrepreneurs like Mama Lydia test out their business ideas by minimising costs and risks.

“We have a limited number of Enterprise Units available, where the rent is as little as £10 per day all in. There is just the rent to pay, no worries about costs for security, utilities and rates.

“Demada Chic Boutique is an excellent addition to the range of independent value for money retailers in Dundas Market and Shopping Centre.”
