Recruitment agency completes 'strategic move' to new office at Sheffield Business Park

A boutique recruitment agency, which specialises in sales, creative and office support roles, has completed a ‘strategic move’ to Sheffield Business Park.

Glu Recruit, which was founded in 2016 by consultant and operations manager Rob Shaw, operates across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the East Midlands, with a focus on the Sheffield City Region.

The agency specialises in delivering a bespoke service in order to place candidates from entry level through to management and leadership positions.

In the first year of trading, Glu Recruit placed around 50 candidates with 40 companies operating in areas including Doncaster, Leeds, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Sheffield.

Over the past month, the agency also welcomed resource and administrator Lisa Brunt.

Rob, founder and MD, said: “This is a very special milestone for us here at Glu Recruit which was established with a clear set of goals and ambitions in mind; to be recognised for our personal approach to the recruitment process that focus on matching personalities and skills.

“In just a short space of time we’re delighted to have built a reputation as the recruitment partner of choice for clients spanning a myriad of sectors, and the go-to consultancy for candidates within the City Region and across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and the East Midlands.

“This move onto the Sheffield Business Park which has such a prestigious reputation marks just how successful our first year has been!”

Rob went on to say that due to the “strong and continued investment” in the Sheffield City Region from big-brand businesses, such as Boeing and Rolls Royce, there had been a notable increase in the number of job opportunities within the engineering and manufacturing, tech and creative sectors in particular.

He added: “There has been a huge amount of external investment in the region of late and this has, in turn, prompted a significant amount of internal investment also. This is fuelling a notable increase in the number of roles being put out to market which is also having an impact on talent attraction and, perhaps more notably, retention.

“Whereas historically we might have had to look further afield to find skilled employees with a certain amount of experience to fill certain roles that is no longer the case.

“Similarly, we’re seeing fewer and fewer candidates crossing the Pennines in order to move on and up given the increased opportunity’s closer to home. All very positive news for the area.

“That’s not to say there isn’t more work to be done attracting top talent to our region, and part of that is better promoting Sheffield as the place to be – both personally and professionally – but we’re certainly on the right track!”
