UKSE investment enables manufacturing company to grow workforce

Fair Share Group Ltd, the Scunthorpe-based manufacturer, is on track to increase its workforce and launch a new product to market over the next 12 months following a £70k investment from UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE).

This investment accompanies a further internal £130k investment from the Donaldson family, the owners of the business.

Currently employing 21 people at its headquarters in Scunthorpe, the funding from Sheffield-based UKSE has allowed the firm to add an additional three to the team, filling a build manager position, an installer position and an office sales and marketing role.

Fair Share, which was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Neil and Sue Donaldson, will also use the investment to bring the manufacturing of the “Cre8a Pod” to market

The new Cre8a Pods are hand-crafted outdoor buildings that are available in six different sizes to accommodate client requirement.

Neil Donaldson, managing director of Fair Share, said: “The £70K investment from UKSE will really help us to drive the business forward as we release the Cre8a product to the market, further increasing our regional and national scope.

“Our focus is to consistently provide a better quality service for our clients, driven by maintaining solid relationships with trade customers, installers and distributors. The additional funding will allow us to expand our team, which is crucial in light of the growing demand from regional and national clientele.”

Alan Stanley, regional executive at UKSE, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, committed to investing in businesses looking to grow, added: “Fair Share has demonstrated a real aptitude for innovation, providing a new product to the market with the creation of the Cre8a Pod.

“We are pleased we could assist Neil and his team to expand the business, and delighted that in doing so there are further jobs being created in and around the Scunthorpe area.”
