Utilita Energy powers up Leeds United with new junior sponsorship deal

Utilita Energy, the pay-as-you-go smart energy supplier, has been announced as Leeds United’s junior replica shirt sponsor for the 2017/18 season.

The new partnership agreement will also see the company support the work of the Leeds United Foundation in the community.

Utilita had its first year sponsorship deal with the club last season, as Leeds United’s Official Energy Partner.

The new partnership will provide Utilita Energy with a platform to further increase awareness of its brand, with extensive brand visibility on all junior replica shirts.

To support work in the local community, for every Leeds United junior replica shirt sold, Utilita Energy will donate an additional £2+Vat to the Leeds United Foundation.

Last year Utilita supported Leeds United Foundation engaging with 120 schools across Leeds through the Power Of Sport Programme. This year’s increased investment will allow the Foundation to do much more in the community.

Paul Bell, executive director at Leeds United, said: “We are delighted to continue our innovative approach to creating added value from our junior replica shirt sponsorship with Utilita.

“Last season we were able to successfully support a worldwide campaign with our partner Greenpeace and this season, through the new partnership with Utilita, we can help support and expand the fantastic work of our Foundation in the local community.”

Jem Maidment, head of marketing and communications at Utilita, added: “The work the Foundation carries out has an incredible impact on the lives of so many children and young people in West Yorkshire.

“Significantly increasing our commitment illustrates how impressed we are with the Club and the tireless work of the Foundation. It is an honour to play our part – as it is also an honour to see our logo on the junior replica version of such a famous shirt – especially at such an exciting time for the club.

“At Utilita we try and give Britain’s hard-pressed families the fairest deal we can. That will never change. As well as the close work with the Foundation, we will also be working with the Club to highlight both our Domestic and Commercial products as we continue to grow and challenge the status quo in Britain’s energy market.”

In April, Utilita reached 500,000 customers and this month achieved one million supply points across the UK.
