Yorkshire artists exhibition boosts funds for sick and disadvantaged children

An exhibition of emerging and established Yorkshire artists is boosting support for The Rainbow Fund which improves the lives of sick and disadvantaged children in Harrogate. Ten per cent of all sales from the event, hosted by Silson Contemporary gallery across July 7-9, will benefit children with disabilities, life limiting conditions and other urgent needs.
The ‘Spring into Summer’ exhibition at 17 Harlow Oval, Harrogate, features paintings, mixed media, ceramics and prints among the pieces of contemporary art. The Rainbow Fund’s wide-ranging support from the area’s businesses includes its corporate partner, Synergy Automotive, which recently smashed its target to raise £5k for the charity - four months ahead of its target date. Synergy’s fundraising drive will enable the charity to purchase a life-saving blood pressure machine and an exhaled nitrous oxide machine for the children’s department at Harrogate District Hospital. Founder and fundraising volunteer, Alexandra Vere, said: “We’re always delighted at the energy, flair and commitment of our wonderful supporters in helping to ensure children’s lives are not at risk because of a lack of vital equipment. “Silson Contemporary’s exhibition is another example of this creative, fresh approach and we invite serious art lovers and curious amateurs to enjoy the show’s wealth of talent.” If you are interested in supporting The Rainbow Fund, go to: www.therainbowfund.co.uk
