Construction of Barratt Manchester’s 140-home Preston scheme gets underway
Work on a new development of 140 homes in Preston that will support jobs in the area is now underway.
The Wesley Chase scheme, delivered by housebuilder Barratt Manchester, is forecast to bring a six-figure funding boost to the community and underpin around 280 jobs.
Located on Lightfoot Lane in Fulwood, the development will generate an estimated contribution of around £52k for the area’s bus services and pay £830k in the form of a Community Infrastructure Levy for local projects.
Wesley Chase will comprise a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes starting from around £188,495.
Barratt Manchester sales director Michaela Lancaster said: “We are excited to have begun our work here at Wesley Chase.
“We are looking forward to creating these much needed homes and a community for those in the area and welcome first time buyers down to our event this weekend to see what we have to offer.”
She added: “We will continue to work hard to ensure the highest quality homes for our customers.”
The housebuilder plans to host an event this weekend (July 15-16) to provide prospective first-time buyers with more information on the development.
