Heathcotes appoints director of quality & compliance
Chesterfield-based care provider, Heathcotes Group, has appointed Tracy Johnson as director of quality & compliance.
Tracy started her career as a 16-year-old care worker supporting people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. She joined Heathcotes ten years ago as a registered manager before progressing through various roles to become head of quality & compliance. Heathcotes has promoted Tracy to the board in recognition of her contribution to the Group’s outstanding results in learning and development and quality auditing which has led to an exceptional Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings profile.
In her new position Tracy will be overseeing a number of Heathcotes’ strategic projects, having already completed an overhaul of the Group’s entire suite of policies and procedures, a new service model for children and a project which enabled many Heathcotes service users to register to vote and take part in the EU Referendum and UK elections. She is currently working on a project to collect sophisticated equality and diversity data across the entire Group to inform measures to ensure that the workforce reflects the communities it serves.
Heathcotes Group managing director, Brendan Kelly, said: “Tracy has been fundamental to Heathcotes’ success over the past ten years. She developed an apprenticeship programme which recorded a qualification achievement rate of 83.7% in 2016/17 - over 13% above the national average and almost 20% above the sector average. This has helped to reduce staff turnover rate to 3.2% compared to an industry average of over 25%.
Tracy’s contribution to quality auditing and continuous improvement is probably her greatest achievement at Heathcotes. She developed an audit system that ensures the Group can be confident about CQC inspections and ensures that auditing is not just a box ticking exercise, but a genuine effort to constantly improve care standards throughout the organisation. We are delighted to have someone of Tracy’s calibre at Heathcotes and her appointment to the board is well deserved after ten years of outstanding service.”
