Plans revealed for transformation of £900k Victorian property in Leeds
Developer Priestley Homes has submitted plans for the conversion of a Victorian property in Leeds.
The company is proposing to transform the £900k building, located at 22 Clarendon Road, into apartments.
Known as Hanover House, the site comprises 7,600 sq ft of space and once served as the head office of Blacks Solicitors.
Leeds-based Priestley Homes acquired the property earlier this year in a deal brokered by Carter Towler.
Nathan Priestley, CEO of Priestley Homes, said: “We are very excited about our plans for Hanover House. It’s a magnificent building and was of course originally a home.
“Whilst Blacks has been highly successful in growing its business here, the room proportions and many original decorative features such as the fireplaces and stucco ceilings lend themselves perfectly to stylish apartment living.”
He continued: “We have been restoring and refurbishing properties for over 10 years and have built up a team of highly skilled craftsman and women who are eager to reveal Hanover House’s residential glory once again.”
Richard Fraser, director at Carter Towler, commented: “We had a lot of interest in this prestigious property and a high number of offers. Hanover House is a fantastic building not just because of its architecture and location but also because of its potential.
“Priestley Homes is hoping to convert the building into top quality residential accommodation and I’m sure they will make a very good job of it.”
He added: “They have completed a number of similar conversion projects in Leeds, Bradford and Manchester and are developing an excellent reputation for their work.”
Chris Allen, managing partner of Blacks Solicitors, which is now based at City Point on King Street, said: “Hanover House was a happy home for our staff for 28 years. We are delighted that the building will be used for another good purpose and will continue to enhance the local area.”
