Motown Magic as hundreds descend on Gawsworth Hall
There was dancing in the streets around the historic grounds of Gawsworth Hall as hundreds of colleagues from specialist lender Together and their guests enjoyed a fun-filled Magic of Motown event.
Guests put on their afro wigs, flares and platform heels for the glitter-tastic party to mark another successful year, which has seen the Cheadle-based business earn a host of industry awards and grow its headcount to over 600.
They celebrated the sound of a generation with 60s and 70s Motown hits from Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Steve Wonder, The Four Tops and the Jackson 5, all performed by a talented Magic of Motown cast and band in the grade I-listed hall’s amphitheatre.
With numerous costume changes and dazzling dance moves, it was clear to see why the act has been seen by more than a million people to date, and had a starring role at the Royal Varieties last year.
Guests were also treated to delicious street food, a pop up tea room, a chocolate fountain, ice cream van and a cocktail bar at the event.
There were competitions for the best fancy dress, with individual, pair and group prizes, with Sarah Hargreaves, a product analyst at Together, and her friends walking away with the star prize of a trip to Marbella.
Together’s HR director Kevin Fisher said: “The Magic of Motown was our most successful summer celebration yet, with 800 guests singing and dancing the night away to all of the classic hits. It was a great opportunity for colleagues, friends and guests to get together and we’re delighted that everyone had a fantastic time.”
Together is committed to rewarding colleagues for their hard work, and the annual summer extravaganza is one of the company’s many social events.
