North East repair firm wins exclusive npower contract
Appliance repair company 0800 Repair has announced plans to create 30 new jobs after winning a five year deal with leading UK energy supplier npower.
The North East-headquartered business sprung to life as a subsidiary of Pacifica Group in 2010, sitting under the group’s Home Services division.
The landmark deal will see 0800 act as sole provider to npower for services including boiler installations, as well as loft and cavity wall insulations. This will see the business extend its coverage beyond its native region, growing across middle England, Wales and Scotland.
Bolstering the team with 30 new hires, Pacifica Home Services’ staff count will rise to over 90 people whilst turnover will swell in excess of £20m.
Phil Pallister, Managing Director of 0800 Repair, said: “This is a landmark moment in 0800 Repair’s short history, which has accelerated our national ambitions significantly.
“The contract win will also lead to the creation of further jobs within Pacifica Home Services, boosting our strong network of professional heating engineers and installers, and I am delighted we have secured this partnership with npower.”
Based in Houghton le Spring, Pacifica Group is one of the UK’s largest providers of home services and product warranty, which handles in excess of 4,000 jobs per week and employs more than 380 staff. The Group comprises Pacifica Home Services, Pacifica Appliance Services and UK Warranty.
Kevin Brown, Group Managing Director of Pacifica Group, added: “The deal with npower will vastly support the Group’s long-term growth strategy and support the creation of numerous jobs, as we look to increase our workforce to meet national demand and enter new markets.
“It bodes well for the future of the Group as all three of our subsidiaries now have national operations covering the entire UK, and this latest deal will help support future investments across the Group and in our company infrastructure.”
Robert Harper, npower’s Head of Commercial Partnerships, said: “We’ve worked with Pacifica Group for the past five years at a regional level and they’ve consistently delivered excellent customer service achieving first class customer satisfaction scores, as well as good value for npower.
“We are delighted to build on this partnership at a national level to deliver heating and insulation measures across the country under the governments Energy Company Obligation.
