Ovum Names TIBCO Leader in MWaaS Decision Matrix
TIBCO has received the highest joint score for the API Platform criteria group and was noted for its hybrid integration agility, sound product strategy, and ability to execute in Ovum’s Middleware-as-a-Service (MWaaS) Decision Matrix. This recognition serves as validation for TIBCO’s robust cloud integration and API offerings, like TIBCO Cloud Integration, which enable businesses of all sizes to interconnect everything with ease and capitalise on TIBCO Connected Intelligence.
“APIs play a critical role in cloud integration, allowing the creation of compelling customer operations, streamlining operations, and unlocking new business models and capabilities,” said Thomas Been, chief marketing officer, TIBCO. “We’re constantly investing and innovating in integration and MWaaS solutions for our customers to solve the new challenges they’re facing and assemble the building blocks of their digital transformation. We’re pleased to be recognised as a leader in Ovum’s Middleware-as-a-Service Decision Matrix, as it’s a testament to our success in delivering these exceptional solutions to businesses of all sizes.”
TIBCO achieved high scores across all three “technology” evaluation criteria groups and was recognised for its range of cloud integration solutions – from TIBCO Cloud Integration and its new “Web Integrator” feature that enables completely browser-based modelling of integration, to the TIBCO Cloud Live Apps low-code application development tool for citizen developers, and finally Project Flogo, TIBCO’s open source, light-weight IoT integration framework for IoT edge applications and cloud-native microservices.
“TIBCO has got its mojo back as far as product innovation and sharp focus on execution is concerned. Its well-defined and aggressive product strategy has rapidly evolved over the last two years,” said Saurabh Sharma, principal analyst, Ovum. “TIBCO’s MWaaS portfolio is based on a sound architectural foundation, with API-led integration being a core feature. The company has a compelling range of offerings and can compete with any middleware vendor for enterprise-scale hybrid integration opportunities.”
TIBCO recently enhanced its API development capabilities with the acquisition of nanoscale.io. The development will allow customers to take advantage of new trends related to serverless computing and Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) application styles. These technologies can significantly reduce operational costs, especially in edge and IoT applications where more processing takes place on the local device, with a more efficient utilisation of microservices.
