Each log cabin features its own private hot tub

Artlegarth Country Lodges expands with three new ‘luxury’ log cabins

A Cumbrian business offering log cabin getaways has invested in its accommodation portfolio.

The Lodges at Artlegarth, in Ravenstonedale near Kirkby Stephen, expanded its offer with the construction of three new log cabins.

Built using wood felled at the ‘green gold’ forests of Finland, the holiday homes are 1,291 ft sq and sleep up to six adults in three bedrooms.

Each features three bathrooms, an open-plan living area with a log burning fire, a hot tub, BBQ and concealed cocktail bar.

Artlegarth Country Lodges is owned by partners Jennie and Neil Riding.

Jennie said: “’We are really looking forward to welcoming guests to our new cabins, which offer even more space and luxury.

“Given the elevated positions of the new cabins on site the uninterrupted views across the Yorkshire Dales are spectacular.”

Speaking further, Jennie said that throughout the expansion, it was important the build process remained “environmentally sensitive” given lodges’ location in a National Park.

She explained: “Screw pile foundations negated the use of concrete foundations and prevented soil removal from site and the wood we used from the forests in Finland is the perfect material as it is natural and organic, it improves the climate by absorbing carbon dioxide and is 100% biodegradable and recyclable so it can be reused if the cabins cease to serve their purpose.

“For every tree felled several new ones are planted in the forests; the amount of wood in Finland’s forests increases every year.”
