The Activ team took over St Oswald’s charity store for a day and raised over £1338!

Activ Technology based in Newcastle, recently took part in St Oswald’s Hospice ‘charity store takeover’ on Wallsend high street. This store, alongside the 27 others managed by the North East charity are renowned for selling a range of good quality, second hand items such as clothing, books, DVDs, CDs and electrical goods.

Lead by Store Manager Susan, the Activ team helped out at the store’s Summer event on the day, helping with the extra footfall and hustle and bustle of an exciting feature on the high street. The team of six was tasked with promoting the tombola outside the store, and encouraging ticket sales.

The tombola prizes were all brand new and included the likes of Harrods stuffed toys, Yankee Candles and more – all put to one side from generous donations or bought by the charity store throughout the year. In total, the team managed to raise £356 solely through ticket sales.

Helping to raise even more, the whole Activ office got involved in collecting bags of donated clothes, toys, household bric-a-brac etc. Each bag collected was on average worth over £42 – the equivalent of over two hours nursing care for someone at the Hospice. In total, the donation bags were worth an impressive £982.00.

The combined total of the donation bags and the store takeover raised £1338!
