Automotive software firm expands Leeds office as reshoring presents ‘huge’ opportunity for city’s digital economy

enquiryMAX, the automotive software company, is creating 10 new jobs at its Leeds office as it brings production back from India.

The company has doubled the size of its Leeds office with an aim of becoming the market leader in dealer sales data.

enquiryMAX’s new home in Princes Exchange, at the centre of the business district, will be the company’s headquarters.

The company says the move is part of a wider trend that experts say has accelerated due to Brexit. enquiryMAX claims that thousands of digital jobs are set to be created in Leeds as companies shift production back to the UK.

Reshoring creates an opportunity for UK companies to shorten supply chains to avoid tariffs, delays and forex impact. The weaker pound means comparative cost advantage for UK companies seeking to produce in the UK and export.

Commenting on the trend David Boyce, managing director of enquiryMAX, said: “As we move to the next stage of our expansion we needed a more flexible development team that can react quickly to market conditions. Building our team in Leeds also drives up quality.

“A key factor in choosing Leeds is the availability of data and digital skills in the city and surrounding region. There is a critical mass of digital companies doing great work and a supply of talent from the universities.”

enquiryMAX works with automotive manufacturers and retailers across the UK to help optimise the sales process. It has grown a team of developers, data analysts and customer support executives in Leeds.

The company now supports over 600 retailers in the UK and works for every Jaguar and Land Rover site as well as other groups such as Stoneacre and Marshalls.

Stuart Clarke, festival director at Leeds Digital Festival, said: “Reshoring is a huge opportunity for Leeds as firms look to bring digital jobs back from Eastern Europe, India and the Far East.

“We have a growing international reputation as a thriving digital hub that is driving innovation for world renowned brands.”
