DULUX DECORATOR CENTRE TEAM RAISES OVER £1,400 FOR ‘WE LOVE MANCHESTER EMERGENCY FUND’

The Dulux Decorator Centre’s support centre team has raised over £1,400 for the ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’, after organising a Summer Fundraiser event to support the charity.

Colleagues at the support centre in Altrincham came together to organize a fun-filled day to raise money for the fund, which was set up to help those affected by the attack at the Manchester Arena. With traditional fundraiser activities including a raffle, tombola and a ‘guess-the-name-of-dog’ game, to a more millennial-inspired Wii-competition - there really was something for everyone. A local Manchester musician was also invited to add to the entertainment, creating a pleasant atmosphere with his acoustic performance.

There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs, as the team brought donations to work to add to the offering and the bosses also showed their generosity, providing additional days of annual leave as an extra-special prize to entice participation.

The team put their creativity in the kitchen to the test with a ‘British bake-off’ style competition, bringing some delicious treats to the table, featuring artistic icing decorations with a ‘Manchester bee’ design to show solidarity with the cause.

“We are so proud of the team for making such a great effort to come together to show their support to all those affected by the Manchester Arena attack,” comments John Henderson, Stores Director at Dulux Decorator Centre. “We have always had strong links to the Manchester community, so the fund represents a cause that’s close to all of our hearts.”

The Manchester team raised an impressive £732.07 from the fundraiser, and the Dulux Decorator Centre Company agreed to double this to reach a grand total of £ 1,464.14.

The ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’ was set up on 26th May 2017 and has so far raised an incredible £11.7 million to support those affected by the Manchester Arena attack.
