Hull’s BemroseBooth Paragon wins contract with Virgin Trains East Coast

BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), the specialist supplier of magnetic tickets, smart enabled cards and print services for bus and rail operators, has secured an ongoing contract to supply Virgin Trains East Coast with payroll services.

In addition, the Hull-based company will also manage part of the warehousing and pick and pack for the company’s luggage labels.

As a business, BBP manages a number of contracts within the sector, providing all marketing storage and timetable distribution, as well as the manufacture and delivery of all rail and bus tickets to transport operators throughout the UK.

Sarah McLaughlin, key account director for BBP, said: “I am very pleased to announce that we have secured the contract to supply payroll services for the business. They are a great company to work with and further complement the range of clients that we work with across the sector.

“Our expertise means that we are able to add value and to make recommendations that improve efficiencies. As one of the leading suppliers in the market, we know that we can meet and exceed expectations, which is just one of the reasons some of the largest brands in the UK and across the world choose to work with us.”

Dave Edwards from Virgin Trains East Coast, commented: “When it comes to our supplier network, we work with people we can trust to get the job done and to do it well. We know that BBP has a strong reputation within the sector and that many bus and rail operators work with the company. Knowing that we can rely on them to add value and to make informed recommendations is further rationale for us choosing to work with them.”

BBP recently acquired Buralls InfoSmart, which is certified to produce ITSO smart cards in the UK. Responsible for the supply of almost 1 billion magnetic stripe tickets for the UK train operating companies, this acquisition will allow BBP to launch ITSO approved smart products and services into the sector.

BBP tech works on RFID contactless cards, tickets, tags and labels for a number of customers across sectors including transport, retail, sports and leisure and marketing. It delivers bespoke applications for clients that want to use new technologies to drive customer engagement.

BBP tech is a member of the Paragon Group. Paragon is an international business solutions group with more than 4,000 employees in over 150 locations across 45 countries.

BBP tech is now a trading division of Paragon’s Hull based transit and parking print specialist, BemroseBooth Paragon (BBP), which produces 800 million magnetic tickets a year to the UK rail network alone.
