The new city centre store will specialise in handmade, bespoke jewellery

New city centre store for Liverpool jewellers Diggle’s

Family run jewellers A & M Diggle Jewellery is set to launch a new store in Liverpool city centre.

The company will take over a 615 sq ft unit at 19 Richmond Street, near Williamson Square, on a 10-year lease.

The expansion marks a nostalgic move for jeweller Andrew Diggle, whose grandfather John James Diggle started JJ Diggle on Richmond Street in 1952.

The new city centre store will specialise in handmade, bespoke jewellery and feature some of Andrews’s original designs.

Customers will be able to transform heirlooms into modern items with same-day sizings, repairs, alterations and valuations.

Andrew Diggle, who has 34 years’ experience in jewellery design and repairs, said: “I am delighted to be opening the doors to my new venture on Richmond Street.

“Especially as it is where my grandfather’s first shop was founded and where my father Norman Diggle carried on the business.”

He added: “This location is a great platform for me and will give city centre shoppers the opportunity to design bespoke jewellery and browse our latest collections in the showroom.”

Andrew’s hope is that one day, his own children will continue to drive A & M Diggle’s Liverpool legacy.

Commercial property agency Hitchcock Wright & Partners acted for the owner of the Richmond Street unit.

Matt Kerrigan, partner at Hitchcock Wright & Partners, commented: “Located in a busy thoroughfare, linking Whitechapel and Metquarter up towards St Johns shopping centre, these premises are an ideal spot for A & M Diggle as it looks to reach new customers and expand its offering.”

The new A & M Diggle Jewellery store will open in early August.
