Sitecore Positioned Highest in “Ability to Execute” for Third Consecutive Year in 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management

Sitecore, the global leader in experience management software, today announced that Gartner has positioned the company as a Leader in its 2017 Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management (WCM). This marks the company’s eighth consecutive year in the “Leaders” quadrant and its third time in a row achieving the highest placement for its Ability to Execute.

“We take great pride to have sustained this position for eight years in a row, which we believe is a huge testament to the dedication of the entire team at Sitecore and mirrors the value that our customers see in our technology,” said Ryan Donovan, Sitecore SVP of Product Management. “The WCM market has evolved considerably over the past decade, and we’ve maintained a rapid pace of innovation to deliver the industry’s most powerful cloud-based WCM offering. With Sitecore, enterprise and mid-market companies have a comprehensive, connected, and connectable platform to drive their customerscustometr’ digital engagement as well as their own digital and business transformations.”

The 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for WCM evaluated 18 vendors based on their Ability to Execute (including product functionality, overall viability, sales and marketing execution, and customer experience) and Completeness of Vision (including market understanding, innovation, and marketing, product, and sales strategy, among others).

According to Gartner, “Leaders have the highest combined scores for Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. They are doing well and are prepared for the future with a clear vision and a thorough appreciation of the broader context of digital business. They have strong channel partners, a presence in multiple regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform support, and good customer support. In addition, they dominate in one or more technologies or vertical markets. Leaders are aware of the ecosystem in which their offerings need to fit. Leaders can:

• Demonstrate enterprise deployments • Offer integration with other business applications and content repositories • Support multiple vertical as well as horizontal contexts“

Sitecore believes the acknowledgement from Gartner represents continued success for the company as it moves into its next high-growth phase. The report is issued after the close of Sitecore’s fiscal year, marked with strong product releases and market expansion, and several new marquee customers, including Dow Chemical, Procter & Gamble, the State of California, Sunrise Senior Living, and Dyson.

This news comes on the heels of the recent appointment of Mark Frost as CEO and serves as a proof point to Sitecore’s success and vision for the future. Known for taking business through high-growth journeys, Frost is chartered with continuing to lead the company’s direction and further scale the business.
