United Carpets & Beds sponsoring Wickersley Youth Junior Football Team
The Rotherham branch of United Carpets & Beds, the UK’s largest franchised carpet and bed retailer, is sponsoring the Wickersley Youth Junior Football team for the upcoming 2017/18 season.
Alex Pearman, a customer of United Carpets & Beds Rotherham and coach of the football team, contacted the branch for support to continue the club’s ethos of getting young children into sport.
Speaking of the deal, Jason Swift, Rotherham United Carpets & Beds branch manager, said: “Alex approached us regarding sponsoring the team and we immediately said yes. We know how important it is to support local teams and encourage youngsters to get out and about and active in this manner. Our sponsorship package includes branded tracksuits and kit bags; all vital equipment for the team so we’re delighted to be a part of it.
“Opportunities like this are one of the best parts of working with a locally run business like United Carpets & Beds, we can get involved in activity like this and make a real difference in the community.”
Of the sponsorship from the retailer, Alex said: “I’ve known Jason and his team for a while so I knew they’d be interested in getting involved with a grassroots team such as Wickersley Youth Juniors. Their support is invaluable in enabling us to continue providing a haven for children interested in sports and it’s great for us to be working with local businesses in the area.”
