Construction giant Interserve secures ‘prestigious’ letting at Arena Point in Leeds city centre
Interserve, the multi-national support services and construction company, has signed a new letting deal at Arena Point in Leeds.
The Leeds office of property consultancy Knight Frank advised on the letting to Interserve, which has taken 8,152 sq ft on the sixth and seventh floors of Arena Point.
Situated in the heart of Leeds’ Arena Quarter, Arena Point is located next to the A58(M) Inner Ring Road, and from the Claypit Lane junction (A58) provides links out of the city centre to the east joining the A64 York Road, and to the south and west connecting to the M621 and other destinations within Leeds and to the wider motorway network via the M62 and the M1.
Leeds City Station, which is an established hub on the national, regional and local rail network, is around a 15 minute walk from Arena Point.
Elizabeth Ridler, partner specialising in office agency with Knight Frank in Leeds, who advised landlords London and Scottish Investments, said: “This is a prestigious letting in one of the city’s most up-and-coming office buildings. It is especially significant that this letting has been agreed before the completion of extensive refurbishment works.
“London and Scottish Investments are spending £1m on a comprehensive refurbishment of the building, including air conditioned offices with LED lighting, cycle storage, shower and changing facilities and a new reception.
“On the back of this successful letting, and the letting of part of the 15th floor to Just Add Water (JAW), additional investment on the fourth and fifth floors will be started within six weeks and be ready for occupation in mid-September. Meanwhile a further letting of 1,916 sq ft is due to complete shortly.
“There’s no doubt that these lettings are a ringing endorsement both of the quality of the refurbished building and of its excellent location and competitive rents.”
Richard Thornton of joint letting agents JLL, added: “Arena Point is recognised as enjoying one of the most elevated positions on the Leeds skyline making it one of the most striking and visible office buildings in Leeds city centre. The building features fabulous open plan floors with great views across the city.
“There is also a dedicated outside seating area/garden, overlooking the spectacular First Direct Arena, at the heart of the vibrant new Arena Quarter.
“The Arena Quarter not only offers world class music and entertainment, but great retail too at the established Merrion Centre and St John’s shopping centres.
“And with a host of bars, restaurants, hotels, leisure and parking facilities, this really is a great place to work.”
Oliver Stainsby of Colliers also commented: “We are delighted to have advised Interserve throughout their relocation process, securing excellent quality and cost effective office accommodation at Arena Point.
“Interserve’s desire to locate within the ever improving Arena Quarter endorses the district as a desirable office location with excellent staff amenities.”
