Student accommodation designer Preferred Spaces on track for record £15m turnover
Design and fit-out business Preferred Spaces is on track for a record turnover.
The Greater Manchester company has forecast sales to reach £15m this year, the highest in its 21-year history.
Preferred Spaces was founded in 1996 and started out transforming commercial offices. The company diversified into the sporting market during the recession in 2008, designing and fitting out football club shops and corporate boxes.
Since then, the Sale-based firm has expanded its foothold in the student amenity market.
Preferred Spaces MD Jeremey Plastow said: “The way students wish to live has completely evolved over the last 10 years.
“The tired halls of residence have gone and more emphasis has been put on creating inspirational living amenities that help to encourage collaboration and learning.”
The company’s boutique student accommodation has included leisure features ranging from bowling alleys and dens to games rooms.
Jeremey added: “We have grown organically and are now the market leader for design and build of student living solutions for the student population across the UK.”
Today, Preferred Spaces employs a team of 16 and works with clients in most major UK cities, including Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, London and Edinburgh.
