Sunderland firm Hays Travel expands with new Widnes branch
Independent travel agent Hays Travel is opening a new Widnes branch.
The Sunderland-headquartered firm secured a two-storey unit on Albert Road, where customers will be able to purchase holidays to destinations such as Spain, France, Italy, the US and Middle East.
The 1,526 sq ft space, secured on a 10-year lease, is adjacent to Holland & Barrett.
The opening is part of Hays’ continuing expansion across the UK, which recently saw the firm launch a store in Moreton on the Wirral.
Hays Travel employs over 1,000 people across 150 UK sites. Last year, the firm achieved a turnover above the £800m mark.
Commercial property agency Hitchcock Wright & Partners acted for the private landlord on the deal. Wild Commercial Property represented Hays Travel.
Matt Kerrigan, partner at Hitchcock Wright & Partners, said: “Albert Road is a busy high street with a great retail mix of local businesses and national chains.
“As such, it’s a great fit for Hays Travel as it continues its expansion throughout the North West.”
The new Widnes branch will be the company’s 150th UK store.
