Cera signs training agreement with Draycott and seals a further chunk of funding
On-demand care platform Cera has announced a new training partnership that will help it usher in a new generation of carers on its platform all available at the tap of a button on a user’s smartphone.
The London-based HealthTech platform, which provides on-demand care services through its app, has partnered with Draycott Nursing & Care to provide ‘world class’ care training to carer’s operating on Cera’s platform.
Founded in Chelsea over 20 years ago, Draycott has established itself as one of the foremost carer training providers with this latest partnership representing a step into the tech-focused, disruptive end of the care market for the firm.
As part of the agreement, Drayson’s parent company Auriens have also agreed to invest £500k in Cera to help kickstart the training programme, with the cash coming from its £20m later life innovation fund.
Johnny Sandelson, Auriens co-founder, said: “This investment is another important milestone for us. It demonstrates our commitment towards making sure technology plays a key role in the later-life market – a market we are determined to serve in an innovative and exciting way.”
Dr Ben Maruthappu, co-founder and chief executive of Cera, described the agreement as a ‘groundbreaking deal’ that brings together numerous strands that would help usher in its vision for the next generation of social care.
He said: “At a time when pressures on the sector couldn’t be higher, it’s time that go-it-alone care providers form collaborative care partnerships, locally and across different parts of the country.
“Crucially, it’s cutting-edge technology that’s enabling us to join the dots and form these partnerships, resulting in an efficient and high-quality service that will improve access to world-class care, across the UK. Draycott delivers internationally-acclaimed training, and this partnership will allow us to deliver only the highest quality services.”
It comes after the hotly tipped care startup, which has already raised over £3m, was selected to participate in Pfizer’s inaugural 12-month Healthcare Hub London programme alongside prescription app Echo and Give Vision, the developers of a sight improving headset.
