North East flooring retailer to create new jobs with £300k UK rollout
Online flooring retailer Connection Retail, which originated in Birtley, is rolling its Direct Wood Flooring brand out across the UK after committing to opening a raft of new stores.
Opening new sites in Coventry, Thurrock and Bracknell for both trade and public markets, the company revealed it also has plans are in place to open a fifth branch in York later this month.
The brand sells solid and engineered wood, vinyl tiles and laminate flooring, whilst the new stores will also feature a select line of products from artificial grass provider Grass Direct - the firm’s sister company.
Investing £300,000 in the launches, the move marks the company’s the transition from online only to creating a physical presence through the UK. The new sites are expected to create 10 jobs by the end of 2017.
Dan Foskett, Managing Director of Connection Retail, said: “The store launches are significant investments for the company as we look to increase our geographical presence in the UK.
“By operating a number of commercial counters in various regions this will also strengthen our links across the country, while maintaining a strong online presence.”
Dan added: “We are hoping to launch further stores in the coming months, building on this period of positivity, and to create more job opportunities at each branch, as well as to support our head office and transport operations.
“I am excited by the future of the company, and looking forward to building thriving stores across the UK.”
